Several Wet’n'Wild Products have been Put to Rest

Wet’n'Wild‘s products are doing yet another make-over (if you’ve been a fan of them like I’ve have, you’ve noticed the change) and are saying “bye bye” to several products/shades. In a link posted on their website “Beauty bye-bye”  lists shades of lip glosses/blushes/eye-shadows, etc. that are discontinued. A lot of those products were my faves: Including  their Twist Up Blush Stick, but taking the place of these products are new and improved versions of them. Like, there’s a new 3 of a kind Twist Up Stick with a few more shades than the old one and a new lip gloss, Diamond Brillance Moisture Lip Sheen for those who used to love Precious Metal Lip Stick. Be sure to see if your faves are still there by logging on to: www.wnwbeauty.com

  •  TIPS TO KNOW ABOUT MAKE-UP

  • In terms of powder, loose powder can last up to two years.
  • You should always keep make-up products away from the sunlight, again, to prevent bacteria from growing.
  • Mascara can last for 3 to 6 months, but liquid mascara longevity is shorter, keep it for only three months
  • Concealer can be kept for a year to 18 months

When it comes to lip liner there are a few basic rules to always remember. When applying, a couple of strokes on the lower and upper lip will do. Don’t go overboard and give your lips a new outline. Try to use a color similar to your skin tone and if you want to make your lips look full(er) don’t use black lip liner. Pick a shade that is similar to the shade of lip gloss or lip stick your wearing. First you line your lips with the lip liner and fill in the shade of the lip stick/gloss afterwards, using a skinny brush that is always used when applying lip gloss.

Beauty Tips for Lips

Here are some tips I thought all you make-up lovers need to know:You can only keep lipstick for only two to three years, but definitely throw it out if it smells and/or if the color changes (like, if it has brown or black spots on it). You can only keep lip gloss for 18 months (since there is some sort of bacteria that grows and can be harmful to your lips, creating nasty formations on them). You should also keep lip pencils for a maximum of three years, for the same reason, that all products develop a bacteria that can be harmful.

Beauty Blogs

8 Jan

Tia Williams and Nadine Haobsh are two beauty blogs that I enjoy. Former beauty director for Teen People and author, Tia Williams has a blog called, shake your beauty. Its about her life, livin’ in NYC and beauty tips for women (some specifically for women of color). I have her book, The Accidental Diva, which is about fictional beauty editor Billie Burke and her dramatic & racy relationship with her boyfriend Jay Lane. I highly recommend to buy it. Nadine Haobsh is the infamous who made a gossip frenzy on the blog scene. Nadine wrote about her life, working as a magazine beaity editor and gossiped about her days at her job, which cossed her a job as an beauty editor at Seventeen Magazine. She now writes her own blog at www.nadinehaobsh.com and on JANE Magazine.
