My favorite artist of all time is Christina Aguilera. I’ve been a fan of her’s since “Genie in a Bottle”, I have all her albums (from her Spanish language album “Mi Reflejo” to her Christmas album and the infamous “Stripped” album). I even have her DVD’s from her tours, so I would definitely consider myself one of her biggest fans. Her new album, Back to Basics, is a mix between pop, R&B and old school blues songs. I love every single song on the two-disc CD. My favorites are: her new single “Candyman“, “Mercy on me“,” Slow Down Baby“, and “Without You“. If people didn’t already separate her from the other teen pop starts of the 90′s ( aka Many Moore, Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears), this album has definitely done it. I never though the day would come, when I would actually want to buy a rap album. Don’t get me wrong, I like rap and Hip-Hop, but the cursing and the disrespecting women part, i’m not a fan of( in terms of hip-hop, I’m more of a Kanye west, common, mos def, slum village fan-Hip Hop with a conscience and less or no cursing at all). But P.Diddy’s new album, Press Play, is an album that I don’t want to miss out on. Its definetley a feel good kinda record. And using songstresses Nicole Sherzinger of the PussyCat Dolls, Christina Aguilera & Keisha Cole on his first three singles, he’s reaching hip-hop, R & B and mainstream fame all at the same time, I highly recommend to go buy it.

Some people may have labled her as a one-hit wonder after her hit song, “Never Leave You” failed to have a back single. But now, after almost five years out of the spotlight, Lumidee is back and better than ever with the hit single, “She’s like the wind”-featuring artist Tony Sunshine. She’s like the wind, a former song, originally recorded by Patrick Swayze, has reached much success, including being played and requested like crazy on Z100 and Hot 97. American Idol runner up, Katharine Mcphee’s debut single, “Over it” is quickly becoming a hit single as well, and I bet by the end of this month, it should be a new anthem for anyone whose trying to get over a break-up. I hightly recommend to buy her debul album, self titled, Katharine McPhee (its supposed to be a mix of R&B, pop, and dance!)

Over the christmas break, i discovered a new band, The Veronicas. They’re twin sisters from Austrailia who moved to Los Angeles to be the next Avril Lavigne. Their album is actually pretty good. I knew their first singe, “4Ever” from watching MTV Hits and they’ve been featured in Teen People Magazine and TRL as the next big thing. After being played as background music on the reality show, Laguna Beach, they’ve gone in promotion with their new single, “When it all falls apart” ( one of my fave songs on their album, The secret life of…. They definetley represent the average twenty-something, college age girl whose trying to make sense of her new life as a young woman and trying to leave life as a teenage.My fave songs are “Leave me alone”, “I could get used to this” and ” everything i’m not”. Overall, their album is worth the $17.99 to spend.I highly reccomend to buy their album!
