You might already know pop/rock group KSM if you watch “10 Things I hate About You” on ABC Family (they sing their own version of “I Want You To Want Me” as the theme song). The all-female band has just begun their own reality-based web show KSM: READ BETWEEN THE LINES. The show is featured on Teen.com, and will showcase their real life experiences of being in KSM. Its sponsored by ACUVUE® Brand, which also has its own site featuring KSM’s web shows and features a sweepstakes to win the KSM VIP Experience (includes a trip to Hollywood, a two-night stay, VIP Tickets, a Meet-And-Greet with KSM, and a makeover by Michelle Tomaszewski, a stylist for the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato). The sweepstakes ends on October 25. Visit KSM’s myspace page to listen to their music.

Controversial group Insane Clown Posse is releasing their new album Bang Pow Boom on September 1st. The above photo is the artwork for the album. I’ve known about their dark repuation feels like it best represents their group. What do you think?

Lifetime’s:Acceptance

25 Aug

If you have Lifetime on Demand, you should definitely check out Acceptance, which premiered last Saturday. It features the lives of suburban youth as they experience the most anxiety/survival of the fittest/ stressful time of their high-school life: applying to college. I can relate to it, being that went to college fairs in high-school and did my college search on my own and ended up at my soon to be alma-matter Rutgers-Newark ( as a transfer student albeit). High-school juniors, seniors and all current college students should watch this movie and laugh at the stupid energy people waste on getting into college, although only for a short time, since applying to grad school may be right around the corner for some.

Fefe Dobson “I Want You/Watch Me Move”

Fefe Dobson “I Want You/Watch Me Move”

I’m so glad Fefe is releasing more music. I definitely like “I Want You” and “Watch Me Move”, but I don’t like the high-school setting for the videos. Both singles are featured on her upcoming album “Joy”.

Congratulations Sonia Sotomayor!!!! First Hispanic and Third Woman Supreme Court Justice!!!!

Sonia Sotomayor First Latina Supreme Court Justice

Congratulations Sonia Sotomayor. She is making history becoming the first Hispanic, first Puerto-Rican, First Latina, and third woman to be confirmed into the U.S. Supreme Court!!!!(Why does this year feel like “THE” year for people of color in politics?”) (Personal Note: As a woman of color, I’ve never felt so liberated and filled with pride. To see someone who had a similar background that I can relate achieve such a milestone is inspirational to me. Just as Barack broke a piece of the color barrier, Sonia has broken race and gender, and have made it a little easier for me, and other women of color to achieve our dreams.)

Casting Call to be in The Script’s New Music Video

Irish pop-rock band The Script is looking for one fan to be featured in their new music video for their song ” Break Even”. Simply just upload a video of yourself either lip-synching or singing “Break Even” and submit it to “Break Even”‘s youtube page. “Break Even” is about being heartbroken after a break up and watching your significant other move on gracefully. I really like lead singer, Danny O’Donoghue’s voice, it kind of reminds me of Adam Levine (of Maroon 5), but a little bit better, more soulful.

Lyrics to “Break Even”

I’m still alive but I’m barely breathing
Just prayed to a god that I don’t believe in
Cos I got tI’me while she got freedom
Cos when a heart breaks no it don’t break even

Her best days will be some of my worst
She finally met a man thats gonna put her 1st
While I’m wide awake she’s no trouble sleeping
Cos when a heart breaks no it don’t breakeven

What am I suppose to do when the best part of me was always you
What am I suppose to say when I’m all choked up and your ok
I’m falling to pieces
I’m falling to pieces

They say bad things happen for a reason
But not wise words gonna stop the bleeding
Cos she’s moved on while I’m still grieving
Cos when a heart breaks no it don’t breakeven

What am I suppose to do when the best part of me was always you
What am I suppose to say when I’m all choked up and your ok
I’m falling to pieces
I’m falling to pieces
(one still in love while the other ones leaving
Cos when a heart breaks no it don’t breakeven)

You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain
You took your suitcase, I took the blame.
Now I’m tryna make sense of what little remains
Cos you left me with no love, no love to my name.

I’m still alive but I’m barely breathing
Just prayed to a god that I don’t believe in
Cos I got tI’me while she got freedom
Cos when a heart breaks no it don’t break even

What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you
What am I suppose to say when I’m all choked up and your ok
I’m falling to pieces
I’m falling to pieces
(one still in love while the other ones leaving
Cos when a heart breaks no it don’t breakeven)

Shwayze Let It Beat Album Cover

What do you think? The above photo is the album cover of hip-hop duo Shwayze’s new album, Let It Beat. I’m more of a top-40 music lover with an album cover that usually shows the artist, and I would definitely like to know the inspiration to this cover. It reminds me of the summer. Shwayze’s recent single “Get U Home”, (also featured on “Let It Beat”) will be featured on the soundtrack to the new horror film “Sorority Row” starring Rumer Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore), Audrina Patridge (The Hills), Jamie Chung (Real World: San Diego) and Margo Harshman (Even Stevens)
