Lindsay Lohan’s “Eharmony Profile” Spoof

16 Apr

I’m a fan of Lindsay’s acting (Mean Girls, Just My Luck) but not of her drama. However, I think this video she made of herself is very funny.

If youtube shuts the above video’s audio off, here is the link for her video on Funny or Die.

If you’re looking for a mix of reggae, r&b and christian contemporary music, you should check out Earthnooks recording artist Eboni. Her website states that she’s “poised with patience and passion of the wise”, it definitely shows in her music. Eboni brings spiritual messages with her unique soundand has worked with the likes of Mos Def, Dwayne Wiggins of Toni Tone Tony and Queen Patra. Her myspace page lists four songs, including my favorite “Sweet Talker” ,(which is about a womanizer) I love its reggae feel and its lyrics “sweeter than a sugar cane with a sour aftertaste, he is a sweet talker”. Be sure to check out Eboni’s Website and Eboni’s Myspace Page for more information on her and her music.

Change The Game Campaign

9 Apr

The CW sitcom “The Game” needs your help. It might be on its way to an end. The cast of the game has created the “Change The Game Campaign” to help keep this show alive. If you’re a fan of The Game check out the show’s twitter page and as well as the show’s message board on the CW website to show your support. I’m a fan of Tia Mowry-Hardict (via Sister Sister) and Pooch Hall (via Miracle’s Boys on The N), so I’ll do what I can to show support for the show and keep it on air. Executive Producer Mara Brock-Ali (who also created and produced the sitcom Girlfriends) is trying to change The Game from a half-hour comedy to a one-hour dramedy, I would definitely watch it.

If you were a fan of TRL back in 2003, you might remember Canadian pop/rock Fefe Dobson. Her debut U.S. single “Take Me Away” was a hit on the show, as well as her next single “Everything”, which was on the soundtrack of the MTV movie “The Perfect Score”. She was like a breath of fresh air for me. To actually see a brown girl in rock music, in my generation was great. Seeing women in rock music is more well-known today, but seeing women of color in rock is rare. I bought her self-titled debut album and loved every song. My fave’s are “We Went For A Ride”, “8×10″ and “Unforgiven”. She was set to release her sophomore album, Sunday Love, in 2005, but her label, Island/Def Jam pushed back its released date a couple of times and eventually canceled it. I’ve listened to a couple songs from Sunday Love on her myspace page, and their not bad. Its a more mature version of Fefe, and I would’ve purchased it. Now, she’s gone independent with her music and released the song “Watch Me Move”, which is also the theme song to comedian Margaret Cho’s reality TV show. Hopefully 2009 will be her year to shine, and bring some color back to rock music because she definetly is needed. Click on the links below to learn more about her and her music:

I’ve been into the laid back/folk pop/acoustic/ music lately. Listening to Mandy Moore”s “‘Wild Hope”, Rachael Yamagata’s “Happenstance” and Colbie Caillat’s “Coco”. Ironically, listed as one of Colbie Caillait’s myspace page is singer Hope. She blends acoustic, soul and pop music with her sound, similar to Colbie’s. Her song, “Who Am I To Say” has been featured in Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married” Soundtrack, and her song “Leave Me in New York” was featured on MTV’s reality TV Show “The City”. She sites her influences as Sade, Sting and John Mayer and it definitely shows in her music. She blends her acoustic guitar with her soft voice to make beautiful songs. I will be looking for her album when it comes out. Click on the links below to find out more info on her and her music:
