Since I’m not the kind of person who knows the latest trends in anything, especially the Internet, last night, while watching 20/20 was the first time I saw William Sledd. If you don’t know, William Sledd, www.williamsledd.com, is a Kentucky native, who works at the GAP and uploads videos on youtube about fashion, and whatever else he wants to talk about. Since last night, I have been hooked, I’m even watching one of his videos on his youtube site, www.youtube.com/williamsledd as I’m writing this. I love his videos, they are so funny and they are the kind of videos that girly girls and some guys, can watch with their friends and enjoy.

Hey all my readers. Just wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

For both those who celebrate Christmas or chose not to, I hope you all have great a time with your loved ones.

For those who love presents: I hope you all have great, thoughtful gifts for and from your friends and family.

Introducing….Rachel Roy

 I was first introduced to designer Rachel Roy from an article about her in Vibe Vixen Magazine , www.vibevixen.com (R.I.P. the print version). It showcased her designs and how her clothing line is more sophisticated and classy, which is a contrast to husband’s Damon Dash’s co-owned  very youthful and urban line Roca-Wear.  I can guess that when most people think of Rachel Roy’s designs, they automatically picture trench coats. Most of her designs have a trench coat style about them, and celebs from Oprah to Cate Blanchett to Jessica Simpson have worn her clothes. Her style brings glamour and sophistication to waring items that women might see as elegant like  pants, suits and blazers. Since I’ve been told that being a short young woman prohibits me from wearing any long skirts/dresses/pants (because it will make me look even more short), I really like Rachel Roy’s style and hope, that when I do purchase one of her infamous trench dresses, I can get it hemmed and wear it with pride.

Take Me There: Mya-Blackstreet-Mase-BillyBlink

Take Me There was a featured song for the Rugrats Movie. This was one of my favorite songs during the late 90′s. Here’s the rundown on the artists who were featured on this song. BlackStreet, is most down for their popular hit “No Diggity” and had several hits from the early 90′s and early 2000s. They’ve also had a slew of member changes that include R&B singer David Hollister (known for his hit “My Favorite Girl”). Most of the current members have seperate myspace pages but I did find an fan site: http://www.rockonthenet.com/artists-b/blackstreet.htm 

Mya, www.myspace.com/therealmya, is a multi-talented entertainer: being a R&B singer, dancer and actress. Although she is mostly known in the gossip world as a singer with a bad reputation, music wise she is mostly known for her part in the hit single “Lady Marmalade” featuring Christina Aguilera,Pink and Lil’ Kim. As well as the crossover hit “Case of the Ex” from her sophomore album “Fear of Flying”. I’ve been a fan of hers since her first single “Its all about Me” featuring Sisqo.” Mya has also been in several movies including Chicago 2002,  2004′s Shall We Dance and 2006′s Cursed.  Although her movie career has taken off, her music career has slid down. Her third album, “Moodring” only produced two singles and even though she has released  a few songs  from her fourth album “Liberation” (which has yet to be released) including the recent single “Ridin”, none of them have had commercial success yet.

I don’t know much about rappers Billy Blank, but that he rapped on this song. According to wikipedia, rapper Mase, www.myspace.com/masesworld, who also raps on this song, is his brother. Mase, is a rapper turned minister turned rapper who has also had several hits during the 90′s including “Feel so good” and “Looking at Me”. Mostly known for being one of P.Diddy’s protege for Bad Boy Records, Mase is now a rapper for G-Unit and plans to release another album in the future.

America’s Next Top Model is….

Last night, Saleisha, the receptionist and Los Angeles native has been named the winner of America’s Next Top Model. I couldn’t not believe it. From the beginning I thought that her Lisa and Heather would be the top three, so I was happy that at least one of my picks, being Saleisha, was in the top three. At first, I didn’t think she was going to win, being that during the Cover Girl commercial challenge for their new lip gloss: Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers, http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=wetslicks_fruit_spritzers .She was having a hard time with her commercialand judges said her voice was robotic, when delivering the lines. But, she made up for it in the photo shoot and in the final challenge against Dallas, Texas native Chantal. Saleisha’s walk showed confidence and “fierce”.
