I’ve always loved bands/groups that have a female as the lead singer, and Alternative Rock/pop-punk band Paramore (www.myspace.com/paramore ) is becoming a fave of mine. MTVU (a website that’s a mix of college life and mtv, www.mtvu.com ) has listed Paramore’s new single “Misery Business” as a hit, being one of the most requested videos on their play list. “Misery Business” sound like a song a woman who causes chaos by stealing another gals man, and the girlfriend gets revenge. I love lead singer Haley Williams voice, and is it me or are they almost like No Doubt when their third album “Tragic Kingdom” gained popularity. The new trend in music now is blue-eyed soul singers, white people who have some “soul” to their music (i.e. Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera although she’s half equadorian, etc.) and Robin Thicke( www.myspace.com/robinthicke ) is no exception. His new single, ” Can U Believe”, off his sophomore album, “The Evolution of Robin Thicke”, is quickly becoming one of my fave songs on the radio. Its a uptempo song, compared to his other single, “Lost Without You”. “Can U Believe” is a song about having a hard time in life and dealing with it, lyrics-” Can you belive now, when your on your knees now, begging and pleading now, when your heart is bleeding now, can you believe?”. I heard Lifehouse’s(www.myspace.com/lifehouse ) new single “The First Time” off their new album “Who We Are”, on 95.5 PLJ, a New York City radio station, about a few weeks ago and fell in love with it instantly. “The First Time” is another song about the joys of love (i.e. exactly like their previous singles, “You and Me” and their first single “Hanging by a Moment”), having that feeling whenever you’re with your bf/gf, it feels like the first time, everything is new, always suprises, there are no dull moments. I highly reccomend to download all three songs!!!!
