I’ve always loved bands/groups that have a female as the lead singer, and Alternative Rock/pop-punk band Paramore (www.myspace.com/paramore ) is becoming a fave of mine. MTVU (a website that’s a mix of college life and mtv, www.mtvu.com ) has listed Paramore’s new single “Misery Business” as a hit, being one of the most requested videos on their play list. “Misery Business” sound like a song a woman who causes chaos by stealing another gals man, and the girlfriend gets revenge. I love lead singer Haley Williams voice, and is it me or are they almost like No Doubt when their third album “Tragic Kingdom” gained popularity. The new trend in music now is blue-eyed soul singers, white people who have some “soul” to their music (i.e. Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera although she’s half equadorian, etc.) and Robin Thicke( www.myspace.com/robinthicke ) is no exception. His new single, ” Can U Believe”, off his sophomore album, “The Evolution of Robin Thicke”, is quickly becoming one of my fave songs on the radio. Its a uptempo song, compared to his other single, “Lost Without You”. “Can U Believe” is a song about having a hard time in life and dealing with it, lyrics-” Can you belive now, when your on your knees now, begging and pleading now, when your heart is bleeding now, can you believe?”. I heard Lifehouse’s(www.myspace.com/lifehouse ) new single “The First Time” off their new album “Who We Are”, on 95.5 PLJ, a New York City radio station, about a few weeks ago and fell in love with it instantly. “The First Time” is another song about the joys of love (i.e. exactly like their previous singles, “You and Me” and their first single “Hanging by a Moment”), having that feeling whenever you’re with your bf/gf, it feels like the first time, everything is new, always suprises, there are no dull moments. I highly reccomend to download all three songs!!!!

As for my first fashion post, I am going to talk about www.urbanistaonline.com . Urbanista is an online magazine that showcases hotspots in spas, decorating your apartment, the hottest clubs and everything that is essential when being a big city twenty something woman in NYC. And ofcourse, it features some of the best places to go shopping in Mahattan. New Editions: Part deux

Shower to Shower

On a day like today when 90 to 100 degree weather is the norm, you’re sweating perfusely and you need something to help cool you down, using Shower to Shower is mandatory. Not only does it come in various incredible scents but it keeps you dry for atleast 5 hours. Which means you don’t get that sticky feeling on your skin and you don’t end up smelling extremely funky after an hour walk in 100 degree weather. My favorite scent is Morning fresh, I love the hint of lavender it has. They also have Island Fresh (plum), Original Fresh (rose, chamomille), and Breeze Fresh (vanilla) just to name a few. Their website, www.showertoshower.com , even gives you tips on how to stay cool using “Shower to Shower“. It only costs about $6 or $7, so its another bargain. I highly recommend to buy it.
Live Free or Die Hard

If you’re not one of the millions of people who saw the new Bruce Willis movie: Live Free or Die Hard, you’re missing some great action scenes, funny jokes and explosions that might give your a headache after the movie is over, LOL. I’m not a big fan of action movies (and have never seen a Die Hard movie either), but on July 4th , my family and I went to go see the 4th installment to the Die Hard Series. I only know Bruce Willis from the late 1980′s comedy Look Who’s Talking, so I had no idea whose John McClain was.
The movie is about two hours of fighting (Bruce Willis and bad girl Mai Lin, played by actress Maggie Q, is unreal!!!!), amazing stunts, and explosions that made everyone in the theatre gasp with excitement. It firsts starts off in New Jersey, Detective John McClain has followed his daughter on a date and argues with her about their distant relationship. It is also revealed that she goes to Rutgers University ( OMG, another Rutgers plug, this school, including the newark and camden campuses are a force to be reckoned with, check it out, www.rutgers.edu, www.nbp.rutgers.edu www.newark.rutgers.edu, www.camden.rutgers.edu ).
After the fight, he is then ordered travel to Camden to save a computer hacker, Matt Farrell, played by Justin Long ( the guy from the PC vs. MAC commercials) and the rest is history. Bruce Willis is your ultimate action hero , getting up everytime he is knocked down, either by plane or cop car. Also, Justin Long kept the crowd laughing with his nerdy humor (when asked by John if he’s okay, he replies “I skinned my knee and my asthma is acting up, but I’m okay”,), there’s even a cameo from Kevin Smith, playing the ultimate hacker to also helps John McClain. I give this movie, two thumbs up and defientley reccomend to see it, its the ultimate summer movie!!!!www.livefreeordiehard.com
Beauty Rush! by Victoria’s Secret

Last weekend, I went to the mall and stopped at my fave store of all time, Victoria’s Secret,and noticed their beauty sections. I’ve seen their products in various magazines and Victoria’s Secrets catalouge’s but have only used their lotions rather than their cosmetics. Beauty Rush is a lip gloss with scents that vary from sweet candy to flowers. The colors are sheer but also color, and because its from Victoria’s Secret, what woman wouldn’t want it!!!! It costs about $7, but there is a sale that ends on July 9th that has two Beauty Rush Lip glosses for $ 10 (the sales ends July 9th, only three days to take advantage of great opportunity!!!!). I have it in Crantastic (an orange lip gloss) and Cherry Bomb ( a red lip gloss) , the lip gloss does have alot of shine and color and stays on for atleast 4 hours (without reapplying).
