Last week, I heard the world premiere song from Good Charlotte, ” The river” on Z100. Benji and Joel were there talking about their new album, which isn’t titled yet (at least I don’t think so). “The river” features fellow rock group, Avenged Sevenfold. It sounds very “poppy” but Avenged Sevenfold’s lead singer, M. Shadows, definitely gives it a rock edge with his scratchy vocals. I also like Ciara’s new single “Like a boy”, which talks about the problems girl through with guys in relationships and how she wish she could turn the tables and have the girls treat guys like dirt for a change. I also like a new band called, Flyleaf. I’m a big fan of groups with a lead female vocalist where the rest are guys, the female calling all the shots! Lead singer Lacey Mosely’s voice is very powerful, and although i’m not really into the screaming part of some of their songs, her voice makes it easier to listen to. (a good example is their new single, Fully Alive)

My favorite artist of all time is Christina Aguilera. I’ve been a fan of her’s since “Genie in a Bottle”, I have all her albums (from her Spanish language album “Mi Reflejo” to her Christmas album and the infamous “Stripped” album). I even have her DVD’s from her tours, so I would definitely consider myself one of her biggest fans. Her new album, Back to Basics, is a mix between pop, R&B and old school blues songs. I love every single song on the two-disc CD. My favorites are: her new single “Candyman“, “Mercy on me“,” Slow Down Baby“, and “Without You“. If people didn’t already separate her from the other teen pop starts of the 90′s ( aka Many Moore, Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears), this album has definitely done it. I’ve always had a problem with acne, ever since I started high-school, however, a year ago, I started using Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Invigorating scrub on my face. It helped clear up my skin within a week and it continued to prevent zits from forming. The smell of the scrub is kind of strong, but once you start to use it, you don’t notice it anymore. This is really good for people with oily skin or combination skin.I also used Neutrogena’s Deep Cleanser to go along with it.

Back in the day, is a new segment about artists and songs that I loved that aren’t that popular any more ( or at-least not in the U.S.) Ash, is a band that I kind of liked, only because their name was “Ash” and its my nickname. Ash consisted of four bandmates, (3 guys and 1 girl) from Ireland, who came to America and became a one hit wonder. Ash’s  hit song, was “Burn Baby Burn”, debuted in 2001, from their album, Free All Angels. They became very popular on MTV and The Box in the mid to late 90′s, but, after ” Burn Baby Burn”, they failed to make another hit in the U.S. They’re still active as a band, ( without female member Charlotte) with an official myspace page, www.myspace.com/ash  and website, www.ash-official.com
